Recovered Photography
During the last month i learned something wise: The storage of digital photography sucks. I learned through pain. After a doubtful period, i decided to recover my temorarily lost data and payed ceiling prices for my own photographs. Here is a small sample of the recovered stuff.
Photography: hard disk from hell

What comes next? According to my series Aesthetics of destruction - On the edge of analogue photography i will perform a further series: On the edge of digital photography.
Stay tuned and don't stop backing up your digital photographs x times ;-)

Eyes on Banksy
Streetart at its best: Banksy - ironical, socio-critical, crazy.
I don't want to withhold the citation of Banksy's Manifesto: "When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised God doesn’t work that way, so I stole
one and prayed for forgiveness." by Emo Philips

Recording the crisis
Why we’re taking photographs of beautiful people, whilst we are in the midst of a paradigm shift and the economic crisis is spreading?
Brain Ulrich shows himself surprised on his blog that not more artists react to environmental conditions. Inspired by his post Cara Philips wrote an interesting post The nature and purpose of photography, discussing why the contemporary photographic art scene behaves in this passive way. In the course of reading her interesting post, I came across some statements regarding differentiations of photography: art photography, amateur works, etc. Well – to be honest, I’m still confused about what in photography is denoted as art, as amateur work or scrap. But that’s an other story.
Never mind. Independently, I started taking photos of the artifacts of ongoing occurrences.

Instant photography won't die
Since Polaroid stopped the production of instant films 2008 - the Polaroid photographers society was yelling. Now the good news: Ilford restarts the production of analouge integral films for vintage Ploaroid cameras in 2010. The rescue endevour was called The Impossible Projekt.
Impossible? Well because the Impossible b.v. team has to reinvent the film. The original parts of the films are based on a 40 year old technology. Some of the suppliers stopped their production of single parts, which has to be replaced by state of the art technology. Now Impossible b.v. has to fix 7 problems to restart the mass production 2010. They invite all interested people for participation to solve the problems.
